Hardware teams were still emailing binaries in 2019. One bad update could brick a fleet, so most companies updated rarely and shipped known bugs for months.
Ruben had run firmware at two hardware companies and had the scars. Mei built the deployment system that the rest of the industry has since copied.
This is a slow, technical sale into engineering teams who have been burned before. It suits founders who can answer a hard question in the room.
